Tools & Resources for Starting Your Blog
1 | Site Ground Blog Hosting
A self-hosted WordPress blog is defiantly the way to go if you want to build a professional and successful blog. There are many hosting platforms out there, but I personally use Site Ground and love it! I recently switched from another popular platform, Bluehost, because I my blog was down multiple times a day! With Site Ground I have had 0 downtime so far, and am loving my choice to switch.
The set up is SO easy and you can start a blog for as little as $3.95/mo when you use my special link 🙂

2 | Building a Framework e-book
This is the one e-book I recommend for new bloggers! It is such a great resource because it literally walks you through starting your blog, growing your blog, and monetizing your blog, step-by-step. It is basically everything you need to know to create a successful blog all combined into one easy to follow guide. Having all that information in one place makes it so much easier to implement everything, rather than trying to find all the information yourself scattered all over the internet. See all the details Here.
3 | Tweak Me Theme by Nose Graze
For this blog, I use the Tweak Me Theme by Nose Graze. I love it because it has 100% customization, and I could make it completely my own. 4 | ConvertKit
ConvertKit is the email marketing platform I use to build my subscriber list & send newsletters. I switched to ConvertKit from another platform that I was not enjoying. I have been so happy with that choice! ConvertKit has so many awesome features to help you grow your email list, and us so user friendly! I highly recommend investing in ConvertKit over any other investment, because building your email list as a blogger should be your #1 priority, and ConvertKit can truly help you do that. A Beautiful mess has a ton of awesome course options for both new and seasoned bloggers. The best part is they are high quality courses for a reasonable price! There is courses for launching your blog, blog growth, photography, growing your Instagram, and more. Check them all out HERE.
6 | BoardBooster
BoardBooster has made a huge impact to the growth of my website. BoardBooster is a Pinterest automation tool that I use to schedule and loop pins. BoardBooster saves me SO much time every single month, because it takes about 75% of the work out of my Pinterest Strategy. Basically you can schedule pins to be pinned on certain days/times, and you can use the looping feature to have your already pinned pins consistently looping or being re-pinned to your boards. The reason this is so great, is because you are consistently active on Pinterest, without having to spend 1-2 hours a day trying to hit your 50 daily pins. Being active and pinning on Pinterest are a HUGE part in growing your audience and getting your pins seen, so this tool is a huge time saver in accomplishing that!
Plus, it starts for as low at $5 a month. You seriously cannot beat that!!! Also, you can try it out for FREE first to see how you like it! Start Your Free Trial Now 🙂
7 | Tailwind
Similar to BoardBooster, Tailwind is also a Social Media automation tool. You can schedule your pins to be pinned when you want, and they also have other cool features such as Tailwind Tribes. The tribes are similar to Group boards, so it is another great way to get your pins in front of more eyes! They have also recently added Instagram scheduling! I have only recently started using Tailwind, but so far have really been enjoying what it has to offer!
Your first 100 pins are free, so try it out and see if it is the right fit for you and your Pinterest Strategy!
Don’t have a Pinterest Strategy yet? What are you waiting for! Check out this post for some help getting started 🙂
9 | Yoast SEO Plugin
I knew nothing about SEO, other than it was important from bringing in traffic. That is where the Yoast SEO Plugin came in. It is SO easy to use, and you can input keywords and the plugin will give you tips to optimize it. Making sure your website is Search Engine Optimized will help help your website and posts show up when someone searches those key words on google and other search engines, which in turn will assist in your traffic and page views! The Plugin has a free version as well, and so far that is all I have had to use.

I use the free version, but there is also an option to upgrade to a pro version to unlock additional features if you want to.
11 | Teachable
If you are planning to create a course, Teachable is the platform you want to use. I chose it initially because they had a free plan so I could try it out without having to pay a monthly or annual fee. It’s extremely easy to use and a really good place to start for entrepreneurs looking to begin selling courses without a huge amount of risk.
12 | Lead Pages
I use Lead Pages to quickly and easily build sales pages, landing pages, and lead capture opt-in’s. You can easily integrate Lead Pages with your email marketing platform so you can grow your list with beautiful and optimized lead capture tools. You can use pre-made templates, or simply drag and drop your own designs.
